Amy Headshot

 Amy Bardenhagen received her early training at Meg Nutting's Studio, Dance Arts Academy and later Ballet Etc in Traverse City, Michigan.  She has performed with Company Dance Traverse, Northwest Michigan Ballet Theatre, and Lansing Chamber Dance.   Amy graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Computer Science and continued on to get her Master of Science in Computer Science from Syracuse University.   Amy moved to Rhode Island in 2006 and joined Fusionworks in 2007.


 

Amy Marie Burns graduated Magna Cum Laude from Adelphi University in 2000 with a BFA in Dance. She had the honor of working and studying with Rebecca Wright, Carmen DeLavallade, Gail Gilbert, Edisa Weeks and Robert Christopher. She has danced in works by Deb Meunier, Robert Battle, Laura Bennett, David Parsons and Danny Grossman. Amy is a member of Dancing Legacy, the performing and teaching ensemble of The American Dance Legacy Institute.  She is a certified lactation counselor and is employed by Healthy Babies, Happy Moms, Inc. Amy lives happily with her husband and their two little dancers in training.


Anne Gehman

Anne Douglas Gehman received her BFA in Dance from Jacksonville University in 2006. While there, Anne received several honors including: the Dean of Fine Arts Award, the College of Fine Arts Award for Choreography and Composition and the Highest Standard of Excellence for National Council of Undergraduate Research.  Anne has performed with Jacksonville Ballet Theater and for the artistic director, Christina Teague-Mann, of Backlight Dance Company. Her recent choreographic research on the Triadic Perspective through Chance Fragmentation in Live Performance was accepted and presented at the National Council of Undergraduate Research in April 2006.  This is Anne's first season with Fusionworks.


Shauna Edson

Shauna Edson grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and began taking dance classes at age 3.  While at Brown University she studied modern dance with Julie Strandberg, Carol Abizaid, Michelle Bach-Coulibaly, Annamaura Silverblatt, and Deb Meunier in the styles of Graham, Limon, Horton, Taylor, and Dunham.  She graduated from Brown in 2005 with an Sc.B in Geology and now works for Coneco Engineers & Scientists in Bridgewater, MA. In her spare time Shauna designs and creates costumes and beaded jewelry. Shauna joined Fusionworks II in 2006, this is her first season with the senior company.


Melody Gamba

Melody Gamba has been dancing since she was able to walk. She was awarded a dance and academic scholarship to Marymount Manhattan College (NYC). In 2002 she graduated cum laude with a BFA in Dance with a Musical Theater minor. Favorite credits while living in NYC: Jose Limon's "Psalms" and "There is a Time", Dance Captain/Rita in an off Broadway revival of "The Boyfriend", company member ESS Danceworks. Melody was a dance instructor for the Ailey School and Reebok Sports Club (NYC). She is a certified Pilates instructor and dance teacher/choreographer throughout the New England area.


Fusionworks Mary Manning

Sheramy Keegan-Turcotte recently returned to Massachusetts where she was born and raised.   While living in New York City she had the pleasure of performing with Jana Hicks, Noemie LaFrance's SENS Production, Isabel Gotskowsky and Dancers, Lexington Dance Collective, Avila/Weeks Dance, Cornfield Dance, Nina Buisson, Ko-Ryo Dance Theater and Silver Brown Dance among others.  She has also performed nationally and internationally with the Next Stage Project and has performed in works by Kevin Wynn, Oliver Steele, Doug Elkins and Jane Franklin.  Most recently she was awarded an Masters of Science in Dance Science with Merit from the Laban Centre for Dance in London, UK.  She also graduated summa cum laude with a BFA in Dance Performance from Shenandoah Conservatory and an AA in Dance from Dean College.  Additionally, Sheramy is a certified Pilates Instructor and has worked extensively as a dance researcher, grant writer and arts administrator. This is her first season with Fusionworks.


Stephanie Stanford

Stephanie Stanford has been with Fusionworks since 1992. She serves as assistant to the director for the company and director and primary choreographer for Fusionworks II. In addition to serving as business manager for the company Stephanie also teaches at the Fusionworks Dance Academy and Stars of Tomorrow Dance Studio. Before joining Fusionworks Stephanie was a principal dancer with the Cumberland Company for the Performing Arts and received a BFA in dance from the Boston Conservatory. Her work, All You Need to Know, was chosen to represent the Rhode Island dance scene as part of the 2002 National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) conference.


Karen DiIurio

Karen (DiIuro) Swiatocha graduated Magna Cum Laude with honors from Connecticut College in 2000 with a double major in Dance & International Relations. While living in New York City, Karen was on the children's program faculty at The Broadway Dance Center and served as resident choreographer for Theatre Kidz.  She was the Assistant Director and performed as a soloist with the Rebudal Dance Group as well as Synthesis Dance Project. She had the honor of working and studying with Dan Wagoner, Eddie Taketa, Jeremy Nelson, David Dorfman, Heidi Latsky, Gail Gilbert & Wally Cardona.  She was awarded the Richard Ellner Scholarship for free tuition at Broadway Dance Center and a full scholarship for the Jose Limon Summer Dance Intensive.  In addition to dancing, Karen works as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt at Citizens Bank.  Karen joined Fusionworks in 2006.
